Over the weekend, President Muhammadu Buhari approved 12,000 metric tonnes of food for states devasted by floods that have rendered millions homeless.

The approval is coming as the government estimated the floods killed 603 people and displaced more than 2.5 million.

Kogi and Anambra States are some of the worst-hit states.

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Abubakar Atiku was heavily criticized for a comment he made in Kaduna State.

And two football matches on Sunday kept fans glued to their screens.

One was the game between English Premier League title holders, Manchester City, and runners-up, Liverpool.

The seemingly unstoppable City lost their first match of the season to the Reds in the entertaining lone-goal encounter.

The other was the El Clasico in which La Liga title holders, Real Madrid defeated runners-up and archrivals, Barcelona 3-1.
