Nigeria’s Super Eagles delivered a masterclass in clinical finishing on Monday night, dismantling Mozambique 4-0 at the Complexe Sportif de Fès to secure their place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Led by a brace from Victor Osimhen and a standout performance from Ademola Lookman, Nigeria became the first team in this year's tournament to score four goals in a single match.

The victory maintains the Super Eagles' perfect record in Morocco, having won all four of their matches so far while tallying a tournament-high 12 goals.

They took control from the opening whistle, though an early effort by Osimhen was ruled out for offside.

The breakthrough finally came in the 20th minute when Ademola Lookman fired home from inside the box after being set up by Akor Adams.

Only five minutes later, Osimhen doubled the lead. Following a brilliant "no-look" pass from Alex Iwobi, Lookman provided the cross for the Galatasaray striker to tap in from close range.

Nigeria essentially killed off the contest just two minutes into the second half. Lookman, dancing through the Mozambique defense, provided his second assist of the night for Osimhen to bag his brace.

The scoring was rounded off in the 75th minute by Akor Adams, who rifled a powerful strike into the top corner to net his first international goal.

The Super Eagles now turn their attention to the quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of the Tuesday clash between Algeria and DR Congo
