The African Union is set to hold its 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting will take place from February 11 to February 12, 2026.
Foreign ministers and senior officials from across Africa are expected to attend.
Discussions will focus on key policy, governance, and institutional issues affecting the continent.
The Executive Council will also review reports from the Permanent Representatives Committee.
AU participation in the G20 will be on the agenda.
Elections into AU organs will be conducted during the session.
Legal and governance matters will also come up for deliberation.
The meeting will prepare the ground for decisions by the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
The African Union has invited the media to cover the opening and closing ceremonies.
Livestreams and press briefings will be made available.
Officials say the meeting will help shape continental reforms in line with Agenda 2063, the AU’s long term development plan.
