Lagos to Pause Lekki–Epe Road Works After Heavy Gridlock

Gridlock on the Lekki-Epe axis on Tuesday

The Lagos State Government says contractors working on the rehabilitation of the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway will leave the site on December 4 and return in January 2026, following the gridlock commuters experienced along the axis on Tuesday.

The announcement was shared by the governor’s Special Adviser on New Media, Jubril Gawat on his X handle.

Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi and the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, joined LASTMA officials and the contractor, CRCC, on an inspection of the Admiralty Way Junction–Jubilee Bridge section on Monday.

Gawat says full rehabilitation works will resume after the New Year.
