Nigerian Military Reports Major Gains in Nationwide Operations

The Nigerian military says troops across the country have recorded major breakthroughs in the past two weeks. Dozens of terrorists have been killed. Sixty-seven kidnapped victims are now safe. Ninety-four suspects are in custody.

The update came on Friday from the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Olatokunbo Bello, who detailed actions taken between November 3 and 14.

Troops also seized a large cache of weapons — from automatic rifles to machine guns and RPG launchers. They destroyed several criminal camps, bomb-making sites, and logistics bases.

In the North-East, Operation Hadin Kai targeted Boko Haram and ISWAP cells in Borno and Adamawa. Troops killed several fighters, arrested 45 collaborators, and rescued one kidnapped victim.

In the North-West, Operation Fagge Yamma carried out strikes in Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Katsina, Kebbi, and Kano. Multiple terrorists were neutralised, two suspects were arrested, and 13 kidnap victims were freed. Weapons, vehicles, and livestock were recovered.

Across the North-Central region, Operation Enduring Peace killed extremists, arrested 16 suspects, and rescued five victims in Plateau and Kaduna. A notorious criminal, Ibrahim Wakili, was also arrested in Sanga on November 9.
Operation Whirl Stroke, active in Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Nasarawa, and Taraba, killed more suspects and rescued 48 victims. Troops also arrested gunrunners and extremist collaborators in Nasarawa.

In the South, Operation Delta Safe stopped oil theft valued at more than N15.8 million, destroyed illegal refining sites, and arrested nine suspects in Bayelsa and Delta.
Troops under Operation Udo Ka in the South-East killed one terrorist and arrested seven others in Imo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River.

Maj.-Gen. Bello said the military will continue to push harder against terrorists and criminal networks nationwide.
