Presidency Says Edun, Dangiwa Resigned — Not Sacked

The Presidency says former Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and former Minister of Housing, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, stepped down from their positions voluntarily and were not dismissed.

In a statement, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said Edun resigned on health grounds after submitting his letter to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dangiwa also resigned willingly, thanking the president for the opportunity to serve in his administration.

President Tinubu expressed appreciation for both men, commending their contributions to ongoing economic reforms and wishing them well.

He has since directed the new Finance Minister, Taiwo Oyedele, to continue with the administration’s reform agenda.

The president is also expected to nominate a replacement for the housing ministry, subject to Senate confirmation.
