Vice President Kashim Shettima says the Federal Government remains committed to restoring peace and security across the country.
Speaking after a special Jumu'ah prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja to mark Democracy Day, Shettima urged Nigerians to continue praying for the nation and remain hopeful.
He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to tackle insecurity and secure the release of citizens still being held by bandits and terrorists.
According to the vice president, the administration remains focused on restoring stability and protecting lives across the country.
Shettima also called on Nigerians to remember the sacrifices made by those who fought for democracy and to remain united despite current challenges.
He expressed confidence that the country would overcome its difficulties, saying no challenge lasts forever.
The vice president urged citizens to support one another and focus on what unites them rather than their differences.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Haroun Eze, called on Nigerians to remain patriotic and support efforts aimed at national development.
He also urged leaders at all levels to intensify efforts to address insecurity, stressing that peace remains essential for economic growth and the wellbeing of citizens.
