The All Progressives Congress (APC) will begin its presidential campaign in Kaduna on October 24, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, announced this on Friday after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Yari said Tinubu had approved the proposed campaign schedule, including visits to states across the country.

He added that the campaign council would hold its inaugural meeting on October 14 at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.

The former Zamfara State governor listed Maiduguri in Borno State and Port Harcourt in Rivers State among the planned campaign destinations, adding that the detailed schedule would be released after the inauguration of the campaign council.

Yari also expressed confidence in Tinubu’s re-election chances, arguing that a presidential candidate must secure significant support in both northern and southern Nigeria to win the election.

He dismissed the chances of opposition figures, including African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Peter Obi, insisting that support concentrated in one region would not be enough to secure victory.
