Real Madrid have completed the signing of former Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva on a free transfer after his contract with the English club expired at the end of last season.

The 31-year-old Portuguese star has signed a two-year deal with the Spanish giants, bringing an end to a highly successful nine-year spell at Manchester City.

Silva leaves the Premier League side after winning six league titles, one Champions League, and a total of 16 major trophies during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

He also served as club captain in his final season and made over 450 appearances since joining from Monaco in 2017.

During his time at City, Silva was a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad, known for his creativity, versatility, and consistency in midfield.

He played a major role in City’s domestic dominance, including their recent run of Premier League success and European triumph.

Real Madrid have been active in the transfer market this summer, continuing a squad rebuild under new coach Jose Mourinho.

The Spanish club have also secured the signing of Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella in a deal worth about £51.8 million, with further arrivals expected before the window closes as they look to strengthen across multiple positions.
