U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered an extension of the ceasefire with Iran while directing the military to maintain its blockade of the country.
In a statement, Trump said the decision followed a request from Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who urged a pause to allow Iranian leaders present a unified proposal.
He added that U.S. forces will remain on standby while awaiting Iran’s response, noting that discussions will determine the next course of action.
