A passenger plane crashed in northern Colombia on Wednesday, killing all 15 people on board, according to state run airline Satena.
The airline said the Beechcraft 1900 went down in a mountainous area near Ocaña, close to the Venezuelan border, after contact was lost shortly before landing.
The flight had departed from Cúcuta with 13 passengers and two crew members.
Officials said those on board included lawmaker Diógenes Quintero Amaya and congressional candidate Carlos Salcedo.
Rescue teams, backed by Colombia’s armed forces, launched recovery efforts in the area, while authorities opened a hotline for relatives.
President Gustavo Petro expressed condolences, as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
