Arsenal have reached the final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 20 years after a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid, sealing a 2-1 aggregate win.

The first leg in Madrid ended 1-1, leaving the tie evenly poised heading into the return fixture in London.

Bukayo Saka scored the decisive goal just before half-time, reacting quickest to convert from close range and give Arsenal the lead on the night.

The Gunners produced a disciplined defensive display in the second half to keep Atletico at bay and secure their place in the final.

Ademola Lookman featured in the encounter but was substituted as Arsenal managed the game in the closing stages.

The result marks Arsenal’s first appearance in the Champions League final since 2006, as Mikel Arteta’s side continues their push to win the competition for the first time in the club’s history.
