The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed as false and misleading a Facebook post alleging the arrest of Evangelist Ukpo Daniel for raising a false alarm about a Fulani herdsmen attack during a crusade in Agboda Village, Nasarawa State.
The DSS clarified, “Evangelist Ukpo Daniel was never invited nor arrested by the DSS.” His wife, Elizabeth, confirmed they were at the Police Headquarters in Lafia, not in DSS custody.
The Service warned that such misinformation could inflame public tension and disrupt ongoing security operations.
Deputy Director of Public Relations, Favour Dozie, urged the public to rely on verified sources to curb disinformation that threatens national security.
