The Federal Executive Council has approved the construction of official residences for the heads of key federal courts and major infrastructure projects across the FCT.

Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, announced this after Thursday’s FEC meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Wike said the approval covers homes for the President of the Court of Appeal, the President of the Industrial Court, and the Chief Judges of the Federal High Court and FCT High Court. “Work on the residences has already begun, and arrangements are in place for timely delivery,” he said.

He added that the council also approved new water projects for satellite towns including Karu, Karshi, Orozo, and Bwari, expected to be completed by May next year.

Wike further disclosed that the rehabilitation of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre had been ratified, following its upgrade ahead of the ECOWAS Parliament inauguration.

He said FEC also approved a new contract for engineering infrastructure in Maitama II District, covering over 786 hectares, to open up the area for development.
