Seven countries, including the United States and six Gulf and regional allies, have issued a joint statement strongly condemning what they described as Iran’s “indiscriminate and reckless missile and drone attacks” across the Middle East.

The statement, released by the US, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, said the strikes were “unjustified” and had “targeted sovereign territory, endangered civilian populations, and damaged civilian infrastructure”.

The countries described Tehran’s actions as a dangerous escalation threatening regional stability and said they stand united in the defence of their citizens. They also reaffirmed what they called their right to self-defence.

The statement was issued after Iran launched missiles and drones at Israel and U.S. military assets across the Middle East as a direct retaliation for joint U.S.–Israeli airstrikes on Iranian cities and military sites, including strikes that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

The targets included Israeli territory and bases in several Gulf states hosting U.S. forces, as part of what Iranian leaders described as a legitimate right of self-defense.

Kuwait Intercepts Aerial Targets

Separately, the Kuwaiti army said early on Monday that its air defences had “confronted and intercepted” a “number of hostile aerial targets at dawn” over central parts of the country.

Authorities did not immediately provide further details on the nature of the targets or whether there were casualties or damage.

Fire and Casualties in Bahrain

In Bahrain, officials reported casualties after debris from an intercepted missile sparked a fire.

The Interior Ministry said falling debris hit a “foreign ship” in the Salman industrial zone, causing a blaze that killed an Asian worker and seriously injured two others. The ministry said the fire had been brought under control.

In a separate statement, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said what it described as “Iranian aggression” had targeted a maritime facility near Mina Salman Port in the capital, Manama.

The developments mark a further widening of regional tensions as countries across the Gulf respond to the escalating confrontation involving Iran.
