The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented a certificate of return to Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo following his re-election. His deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, also received his certificate.

The presentation took place on Tuesday in Awka, the state capital, and was conducted by the supervising INEC National Commissioner in charge of the Anambra election, Kenneth Ukeagu.

Ukeagu said the event marked the completion of the electoral process and reflected the confidence the people of Anambra have in the governor. He noted that Section 72(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 requires INEC to issue certificates of return within 14 days to duly elected candidates.

“In compliance with this statutory provision, I have the honour and privilege to present the certificates of return to the Governor and Deputy Governor-elect,” Ukeagu said.

Soludo, who attended the ceremony with his wife, Nonye, and their children, praised INEC for the smooth conduct of the election.

He also thanked residents and members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for their support, promising that his second term would bring accelerated development across all sectors.
