Former PDP governorship candidate in Lagos, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has launched an Independent Campaign Group (ICG) to rally support for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the upcoming July 12 local government elections.

Jandor, who defected to the APC in March, inaugurated the group on Monday, saying the initiative is aimed at mobilising grassroots support across all 57 local government areas and development councils in the state.

“This has been set up to galvanise massive support for all APC candidates in the forthcoming local government elections in the state,” he said.
The self-funded campaign team includes 24 state apex leaders, 57 local government coordinators, and 377 ward leaders, all tasked with community engagement, voter education, and door-to-door mobilisation.

“This campaign group is not just about politics,” Jandor said. “It is about ensuring quality representation at the grassroots, consolidating the gains of good governance and ensuring that people choose credible leaders.”

The group was officially unveiled by Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals. She praised Jandor’s commitment to party work despite holding no official position.

“Jandor is a grassroots party man,” she said. “We know those who fold their hands and do nothing — Jandor is not one of them. On behalf of the president, the state governor, and the APC chairman in the state, I thank you.”

Also present at the event were APC deputy state chairman Moshood Maiyegun, former PDP deputy governorship candidate Safuratu Abdul-Kareem, and Chief Ola Apena, a former PDP deputy chairman who is now with the APC.
