Lagos politician Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has withdrawn from the 2027 Lagos State governorship race under the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing party unity and leadership direction.

Announcing his decision, Jandor said it followed the endorsement of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party leaders in Lagos.

He explained that while his earlier move to join the race was based on conviction and consultation.

“Leadership also demands the capacity to make difficult but necessary decisions that prioritize collective interest above personal ambition", he said.

Jandor stressed that his withdrawal was not due to weakness or lack of capacity.

“This decision is not borne out of weakness or a lack of capacity, but out of strength, discipline, and a deep respect for party cohesion and unity,” he said.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and President Tinubu, adding that he had fully aligned with the party’s direction on the Lagos governorship process.

He also thanked his supporters and the Lagos4Lagos Movement, urging them to remain committed to the party’s overall success in the state.
