The Lagos State government has postponed the planned rehabilitation works on the Lekki–Ajah corridor.

The project was earlier scheduled to begin from the Ajah end of the road on Nov. 15.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said in a statement issued on Nov. 18 that the government will announce a new commencement date at a later time.

He noted that preliminary activities will continue till the end of the month, and full rehabilitation works will not begin until the revised schedule is released.

“A new commencement date will be communicated in due course. While preliminary activities will continue till the end of the month, full rehabilitation works will not begin until the revised schedule is announced,” he said.

Osiyemi thanked motorists for their patience and understanding, saying the government remains committed to improving road infrastructure.
