The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement has unveiled a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election.
The council comprises zonal and state coordinators as well as directors overseeing areas including grassroots mobilisation, women's affairs, strategy, legal affairs, security and intelligence.
John Ughulu, the movement’s Director-General, will head the campaign council as Director-General, while National Secretary Saadatu Sani will serve as secretary.
The structure has representatives from all six geopolitical zones, the Federal Capital Territory and the 36 states.
Among the zonal coordinators are Suleiman Abubakar for the North-Central, Hashimu Dungurawa for the North-West, Amadu Gwambe for the North-East, Adebayo Adefolaseye for the South-West, Christopher Ighodaro for the South-South and El-Shaddai Ikeh for the South-East.
The council also includes directors for grassroots mobilisation, women affairs, contact and engagement, mobilisation, special duties, procurement, information technology, legal affairs, strategy and planning, security and intelligence, and administration.
In a statement announcing the appointments, Sani described the roles as a call to service and tasked members with taking the message of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso to communities across the country.
She said the movement was focused on mobilising Nigerians around what it described as the possibility of a more prosperous, united and functional Nigeria.
The movement is supporting Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, and Kwankwaso, his running mate, ahead of the 2027 election.
The group, however, said the new structure does not replace the formal presidential campaign council of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, which is expected to be announced separately.
The announcement comes days after the movement condemned the reported disruption of Obi’s convoy during his visit to Benue State and called for an investigation into the incident.
