The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a clear legal framework to enable the electronic transmission of election results ahead of the 2027 General Election.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said on Monday in Abuja that electronic transmission from polling units was the only way to guarantee credible elections and restore Nigerians’ confidence in the process.

He also urged INEC to fix glitches with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), arguing that if POS terminals work nationwide, BVAS should not fail during elections.

Ologunagba added that the party’s elective convention will take place in November in Ibadan, believing it would unite the PDP as it prepares to reclaim power in 2027.

He also pressed President Bola Tinubu to appoint an independent INEC chairman capable of delivering free and fair elections.
