The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 15.

The decision was disclosed in a statement released Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba. According to him, the postponement followed an emergency meeting of the PDP's National Working Committee (NWC), which approved the move citing recent internal developments.

While the party did not specify the nature of these developments, Ologunagba noted that the decision was made in line with the powers conferred on the NWC under Section 29 (2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

“A new date for the NEC meeting will be communicated to members in due course,” the statement read.

“All NEC members should please note the postponement and be guided accordingly.”

The NEC is the party’s highest decision-making body and its meetings are often pivotal in shaping party strategy and resolving internal issues.

Party watchers say the postponement could signal key deliberations taking place behind the scenes.
