President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a request to the Senate for the screening and confirmation of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The President's request was contained in a letter read on the floor of the Senate during today's plenary session by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Dr. Ude, who currently serves as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, hails from the state. His nomination is understood to be a move to fill the vacant ministerial slot for Enugu State, following the recent resignation of the former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji.
In the letter, President Tinubu urged the Senate to give the request its "usual expeditious consideration." Following the announcement, the Senate President referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for further legislative deliberation and the subsequent screening process.

Dr. Ude was recently conferred with the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). His confirmation would see him join the Federal Executive Council (FEC), contributing to the nation's governance.
