Veteran Nigerian actor Davis Offor, widely known as Clarus in the classic sitcom The New Masquerade, has died at the age of 85.
Offor passed away in Lagos after a prolonged illness, which reportedly included visual impairment and prostate cancer.
He gained nationwide recognition for his comedic role as the houseboy in The New Masquerade, a popular television series that aired in the 1980s and early 1990s.
His death was confirmed by fellow cast member Tony Akposheri, prompting tributes from colleagues and fans across the country.
Offor later became a minister and spent over two decades in religious service. He is remembered for his humour and contribution to Nigeria’s early television industry.
