The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially rolled out its Digital Certificate Services System (WAEC DigiCert) across all member countries, including The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.

The announcement was made in a press release from WAEC Headquarters on Nelson Mandela Avenue, Okponglo, Accra, Ghana.

The mobile and web-based platform allows candidates, schools, and other stakeholders to access, request, verify, and share digital copies of WAEC certificates.

Users can also recover lost examination numbers through the system.

WAEC says the digital service is reliable, guarantees authenticity, and significantly reduces costs and administrative bottlenecks associated with manual certificate issuance.

Speaking on the launch, Demianus G. Ojijeogu, Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, said:
"Following a successful pilot in Nigeria, WAEC DigiCert has received positive feedback from candidates and institutions worldwide.

We urge the public to adopt this system to streamline certificate verification and reduce delays."

WAEC reassures the public that traditional printing and issuance of certificates will continue unaffected.

The mobile app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play. For further information, stakeholders can visit www.waec.org or follow @WAECDigicert on social media.
