FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has charged members of the Technical Committee of the G-7 States to come up with the most adaptable strategies in combating cross-border crime and criminality.
Wike also urged them to make maximum use of the collaborative platform to tackle insecurity in Abuja and the states contiguous to the FCT.
He gave this charge on Thursday, in his remarks presented by the FCT Head of Civil Service, Grace Adayilo, at the opening ceremony of the G-7 meeting in Abuja.
"The nature of threats has become increasingly dynamic, and criminal elements are exploiting technology and porous boundaries. Only through coordinated operations can we overcome them,” Wike said.
The Technical Committee of the G-7, which comprises the Commissioners of Police, State Directors of Security, and the Commandants of NSCDC of Benue, Kaduna, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau states, and the FCT, periodically holds joint meetings to appraise the prevailing
security challenges.
It also articulates an agenda of action and operational order for the consideration and support of the Chief Executives of the G-7 states.
