The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that its online ticketing platform for the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service (AKTS) is now active, ahead of the resumption of operations on October 1.

In a statement on Tuesday, NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, said passengers can now book their tickets online via nrc.tps.ng or at designated train stations.

He added that the journey time has been reduced following a review of the Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR), aimed at improving efficiency and safety.

Under the new schedule, the Abuja–Kaduna route will depart Idu at 8:45 a.m., stop at Kubwa by 9:10 a.m., and arrive at Rigasa in Kaduna by 11:47 a.m. The return trip from Rigasa is set for 2:30 p.m., reaching Kubwa at 5:12 p.m. and Idu at 5:32 p.m.

Unyimadu thanked passengers for their patience during the suspension period and assured them that safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction remain the NRC’s top priorities.
