The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has assured wounded soldiers of the best possible medical care, emphasizing that their sacrifices for the nation will never be in vain.
His message was delivered Sunday by Maj.-Gen. Isah Abdullahi, Chief of Administration, during a working visit to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
Abdullahi said the visit was to assess the hospital, which is regarded as a flagship facility of the Nigerian Army.
“Last week, upon assuming duty, the Chief of Army Staff visited this hospital to evaluate operations and meet wounded soldiers from ongoing operations,” Abdullahi explained.
“Following that, I was directed to follow up, identify challenges, and support improvements at the facility.”
During his visit, Abdullahi interacted with the injured soldiers and toured the hospital, noting, “It’s evident this hospital has undergone significant transformation, marking a complete paradigm shift from its previous state.”
He added the hospital serves both military personnel and civilians from Kaduna and surrounding areas, making it a true centre of excellence in medical care.
“Much has improved, and we hope this visit contributes to the facility’s progressive development.
Our goal is to ensure the hospital continues to meet the health needs of both soldiers and civilians,” Abdullahi said.
Addressing the wounded soldiers, he said, “Your sacrifices are deeply appreciated. We are committed to ensuring you receive the best care possible, with the aim of returning you swiftly to your duty posts.”
The Chief of Administration Maj.-Gen Abdullahi toured the hospital alongside Chief Medical Director Brig.-Gen. Godwin Ogoh and other senior officers, underscoring the military’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel.
