The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled a new trophy for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to be held in Morocco in 2026.

The unveiling took place at a special event in Casablanca, co-hosted by CAF and its long-term partner, TotalEnergies.

The newly designed trophy symbolizes the significant rise and recognition of women's football across Africa. CAF's statement emphasized that the trophy is not merely a piece of silverware but a celebration of equality, unity, and excellence in women's sports on the continent.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Men’s TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations trophy, the new design highlights the organization's commitment to developing and growing women's football in Africa. The trophy features petals spiraling upward, each representing a national team, forming a blooming flower—a symbol of growth and empowerment.

At the heart of this floral design is a golden sphere resembling a football, adorned with a shiny gold map of Africa. This sphere reflects the continent's ambition and pride in making a global impact in the women’s game. The trophy, crafted from brilliant silver and matte gold, is wrapped in a gold ring engraved with the CAF logo, reinforcing the confederation's dedication to elevating the women's game across all its 54 member associations.

The base of the trophy is a pristine white marble pedestal with elegant gold-accented stripes, featuring the competition's name in refined matte gold lettering. CAF has expressed hope that the new trophy will serve as a beacon of inspiration for millions of young girls across Africa, encouraging them to dream big and achieve greatness on the global stage.
