The Federal Government College Kano Old Students Association (FGC-KOSA) has condemned the planned concession of about 30 hectares of land within the school.

The concession has been proposed under a public-private partnership agreement, but the FGC alumni are describing the move as a threat to the institution’s legacy.

The position of the association was contained in a statement signed by its National President, Shoyinka Shodunke, and read by the National Publicity Secretary, Aminu Haruna Maifamfo, during a protest held in front of the school on Monday.

FGCKOSA said the proposed arrangement was a deliberate attempt to destroy a national asset built over decades and called on Bola Tinubu to cancel the concession and protect the integrity of the college from actions it considers harmful to education.

The association said alumni members had invested billions of naira over the years in infrastructure and academic support for the college without claiming any portion of it.
