FG, Governors Meet to Fast-Track National Economic Growth

The Federal Government is convening a major economic conference today, Monday, aiming to strengthen coordination between the federal and state governments to accelerate national growth.

Vice President Kashim Shettima will chair the two-day National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, which will bring together all 36 state governors and key stakeholders.

The conference seeks to align economic plans across the federation, fostering a unified approach to development.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, the gathering will focus on creating clear, shared policy directions to drive inclusive growth and sustainable progress nationwide.

Vice President Shettima emphasized the importance of collaboration, saying, “This meeting will ensure that states and the federal government work hand in hand to deliver impactful economic policies that benefit every Nigerian.”

The conference is expected to address pressing fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation, and development challenges, marking a critical step in advancing the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Bola Tinubu will attend as a Special Guest of Honour.
