Ticket prices for the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup have risen sharply after sales were reopened, with the most expensive seats now costing $10,990.

According to reports, FIFA increased the top ticket price from the earlier listed $8,680 following the tournament draw in December.

Category two tickets for the final have also risen to $7,380 from $5,575, while category three tickets now cost $5,785, up from $4,185.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, with the final scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

FIFA recently launched the last-minute ticket sales phase, with tickets sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

However, reports indicate that the latest round of sales was affected by technical issues, leaving some fans stuck in virtual queues for more than 90 minutes.

Reports also stated that tickets were only available for some group-stage matches, with none of the knockout-stage tickets initially released.

FIFA said additional tickets would be released gradually in phases.

The reopening of ticket sales also caused confusion among some fans, as some were redirected to a special sales phase meant for supporters of recently qualified teams, preventing them from purchasing tickets.

FIFA has yet to respond fully to complaints, but the governing body says more tickets will be released through the official resale and exchange platform.
