A fire outbreak at a Plaza in Garki II in the early hours of Monday has destroyed goods worth millions of naira after burning down two shops stocked with electronics and stationery items.
The cause of the inferno, which occupants of the Plaza said started around 6.30 a.m., has not been confirmed.
It took the swift intervention of the Federal Fire Service who responded to emergency call at 6:48 a.m., to bring the fire under control, thereby preventing it from spreading into neighbouring buildings.
Speaking on the incident, an official of the Federal Fire Service, Agbo Benson, said the fire was intense, with smoke and flames blasting out of the building and destroying properties before their arrival.
