The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Tuesday confirmed new damage to entrance buildings at Iran’s underground Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant following recent U.S.-Israeli strikes.

“Based on the latest available satellite imagery, the IAEA can now confirm some recent damage to the entrance buildings,” the agency said on X.

The watchdog said no radiological consequences are expected and reported no additional damage to the main underground facility, which was heavily hit during last year’s conflict.

Iran had earlier said Natanz was targeted.

Its ambassador to the IAEA, Reza Najafi, said Tehran notified the agency that the safeguarded site was attacked and rejected U.S. claims that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons.

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi initially said there was “no indication” of major new damage but updated the assessment after reviewing satellite images.

Natanz remains one of Iran’s key uranium enrichment sites.

IAEA inspectors are currently not in the country, and Grossi said engagement with Tehran has been limited since previous strikes.

The confirmation adds to growing tensions over Iran’s nuclear program amid ongoing regional hostilities.
