Iran has warned against a “vicious cycle” of conflict after threats of military action from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry, Esmail Baghaei, described the situation as potentially catastrophic for the region and beyond.
He said Tehran would not accept a repeated pattern of war, negotiations and ceasefire, insisting the country would resist what it called unjust aggression.
Baghaei also reassured Gulf countries, saying Iran does not see them as enemies and remains committed to maintaining good relations.
He, however, accused the United States and Israel of using regional territories to carry out attacks.
The comments follow a warning from Trump that Iran must reach a deal within weeks or face strikes targeting its power infrastructure.
