Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has released his debut extended play titled More To Life, marking his official entry into the music industry while still actively playing professional football.
The Fulham player dropped the project on April 9, 2026, under the stage name “17”, a nod to his jersey number, after previously teasing his interest in music over the past two years.
The EP is a blend of Afrobeats and Afrowave sounds, reflecting Iwobi’s Nigerian heritage and personal experiences beyond football. The project explores themes of identity, lifestyle, and life outside the pitch.
More To Life features collaborations with several artists, including Nigerian singer Teni, fast-rising act Fido, and fellow footballer Amadou Onana, who appears under the alias “24AM”. Other contributors on the project include Giddi, P17, SPKS, and 4AM.
One of the standout tracks on the EP is “Joanna”, featuring Fido, who gained prominence after contributing to one of Nigeria’s biggest songs in 2025. The collaboration has drawn attention across both sports and entertainment audiences.
Iwobi’s move into music makes him one of the few active Premier League players to release a full music project while still competing at the highest level of club football.
The eight-track EP has already begun gaining traction among fans, with listeners praising its production quality and the footballer’s confident delivery on multiple tracks.
Iwobi, who has long been regarded as one of Nigeria’s most creative midfielders, appears to be expanding his influence beyond football, positioning himself at the intersection of sports and entertainment.
The release of More To Life underscores a growing trend of athletes exploring creative industries, particularly music, as a means of expression and brand expansion.
