The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria over technical deficiencies identified during the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The examination body also issued warnings to several other centres with minor issues, while one centre in Lagos has been blacklisted entirely and will no longer be used for any of its examinations.
JAMB said the Mock UTME, designed to help candidates familiarise themselves with the CBT environment, also serves as a key assessment tool for evaluating the readiness and performance of accredited centres.
Following an internal review after the exercise, the Board identified multiple centres that failed to meet required operational and technical standards.
“As part of our commitment to maintaining the integrity of our examination processes, only centres that are fully prepared and compliant will participate in the main UTME,” JAMB said.
The delisted centres span several states, including Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, and Plateau.
In Lagos State alone, five centres were affected, including:
Florin High School, Ejigbo
Folbob CBT Centre, Ibeju-Lekki
Great Kezino College, Ikorodu
Obans CBT Centre, Ikorodu
Teesas Learning and CBT Centre, Lekki.
JAMB also placed dozens of centres nationwide on notice, warning them to address identified shortcomings or risk sanctions ahead of the main UTME.
In a separate category, JAMB announced that Ha-Shem Academy, located in Yaba, Lagos, has been barred from participating in any future examinations conducted by the Board.
JAMB emphasised that the measures are part of broader efforts to ensure a smooth and credible examination process.
The Board noted that the Mock UTME remains a critical platform not only for candidates’ preparation but also for quality control, enabling it to detect and eliminate underperforming centres before the main examination.
The 2026 UTME is expected to hold from April 16, to April 25.
