The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for the 2025 admission process into public universities from October 31 to November 17, 2025.
JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, announced the extension in a statement on Sunday.
He said the decision followed appeals from the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU) after court orders and other disruptions affected the admission process.
Dr. Benjamin added that the move also accommodates 229 newly accredited programmes in 37 universities, approved by the National Universities Commission on October 29.
JAMB commended universities for their efforts to meet the earlier deadline but stressed that the new date would be final and must be strictly observed.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to a fair, transparent, and credible admission process in line with national education goals.
