The Labour Party has given Peter Obi a 48-hour ultimatum to formally resign from the party.
The ultimatum follows the presidential candidate's alignment with a newly formed coalition hoping to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 elections.
In a statement on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the LP restated its disinterest in joining the coalition, describing the members as power mongers whose only interest is self, not the people.
The party warned Nigerians that the slogan “A New Nigeria is Possible” is a ruse that cannot be achieved through what it called an assemblage of "old, recycled, desperate, and frustrated politicians."
