Liverpool have agreed to a British record £125m fee to sign striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, according to BBC Sport.

Sources confirmed the deal to the medium, with the Sweden international expected to have a medical before signing a six-year contract.

Liverpool's initial £110m offer was rejected in August, but they have now secured their top target on the final day of the summer transfer window.

The transfer comes after Newcastle signed striker Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart last week.

Liverpool's Summer Spending Spree

This deal will be Liverpool's second record-breaking transfer this summer. They have already broken their club record by signing Germany attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz for an initial £100m, with an additional £16m in add-ons.

The arrival of Isak will push the club's total summer spending to approximately £416m, including other signings like Hugo EkitikeMilos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong.

To balance the books, Liverpool have recouped around £190m from the sales of players, including Luis DiazDarwin Nunez, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
