NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), has directed commanders nationwide to break drug cartels and step up sensitisation campaigns as part of the agency’s 2026 operational focus.
Marwa gave the charge at the NDLEA annual review and planning meeting in Abuja, attended by directors, zonal and state commanders.
He said the agency will consolidate gains in drug supply and demand reduction, with emphasis on disrupting cartel finances and expanding community and school advocacy.
Marwa also called for stronger State Drug Control Committees down to local government and ward levels, pledging continued efforts to protect youths and families from illicit drugs.
