The Federal Capital Territory’s fight against motorcycle taxis (okadas) is far from over.

They not only keep appearing on the roads daily but have also decided to take the fight to the FCT Joint Task Force.

On Thursday morning, armed okada riders opened fire on the FCT joint task team that went to Lugbe to arrest motorcyclists operating along the Airport Road.

The members of the team were forced to take to their heels when they sighted the rampaging okada riders advancing towards them with dangerous weapons.

The Task Force had arrested 100 okada riders for various traffic offenses before the attack.

The team was battling to overcome the okada operators who were armed with guns, cutlasses, and daggers as of press time.

The Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Ikharo Attah, however, said no amount of attack or resistance from the motorcyclists will deter the administration from flushing them from the FCT.
