The Senate has confirmed five Resident Electoral Commissioner nominees for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The confirmation followed the presentation of a report by the chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Simon Lalong.
Those confirmed include Umar Garba (Kano), Sa'id Idris (Bauchi), Chukwuemeka Ibeziako (Anambra), Umar Mukhtar (Borno), and Dr Johnson Sinikiem (Bayelsa).
After the confirmation, Senate President Godswill Akpabio congratulated the new INEC RECs and urged them to promote democratic values with integrity and patriotism.
