Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar's legal battle to challenge the election of President Bola Tinubu will continue at the Supreme Court on Monday.

The Supreme Court Registrar, Zainab Garba, issued a notice on Thursday, stating that the hearing for Atiku's appeal will occur at the Supreme Court in Abuja on 23 October.

According to the statement, the Supreme Court currently faces a shortage of justices, with only 11 out of the required 21 in line with the Constitution.

The House of Representatives has expressed concerns over the workload on the apex court and called on the federal government to appoint new judges to ensure efficient justice delivery.

Atiku's appeal follows the dismissal of his earlier petition by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

He has raised several grounds for appeal, including concerns about the electronic transmission of results and the qualification of Tinubu to run for president.
