The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has temporarily shut down the Temporary Terminal (T3) at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) following an electrical spark that produced smoke in an operational office on Tuesday at about 14:05 hours.
FAAN said all flights normally operating from Terminal 3 have been redirected to Terminal 2, advising passengers to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
“The situation is under control,” the agency stated, noting that personnel from the Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFFS) promptly responded and contained the incident.
Electrical maintenance is ongoing to ensure all systems are fully operational ahead of the terminal’s reopening.
