U.S. President Donald Trump has warned of expanded military action against Iran if ongoing talks fail, saying the United States is prepared to escalate its offensive despite claiming major battlefield successes.
Speaking from the White House, Trump said Washington could target critical infrastructure, including Iran’s power supply, if no agreement is reached.
“If there is no deal, we’re going to hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously,” he said.
He added that the U.S. had so far avoided striking Iran’s oil sector but could do so if necessary.
“We have not hit their oil… but we could hit it and it would be gone. And there is not a thing they could do about it,” Trump said.
The president also issued a stark warning about the scale of potential destruction.
“We’re going to bring them back to the stone age, where they belong,” he said.
Trump argued that Iran has already suffered irreversible damage, describing the country as “decimated” both militarily and economically.
“We’ve beaten and completely decimated Iran… and essentially, [it] is no longer a threat,” he said.
Despite the aggressive stance, Trump noted that discussions were ongoing, suggesting a possible diplomatic resolution.
“Discussions are ongoing… If during this period of time no deal is made, we have our eyes on key targets,” he said.
He also linked the conflict to global energy concerns, urging other nations to take responsibility for securing oil routes.
“To those countries that can’t get fuel… buy oil from the United States of America. We have plenty,” Trump said.
Trump concluded by framing the operation as a long-term security measure, saying the outcome would reshape global stability.
“We’re on the cusp of ending Iran’s sinister threat to America and the world,” he said.
