China has announced plans to provide humanitarian assistance to Iran and other countries affected by the ongoing Middle East conflict, as fighting involving Israel and the United States continues.
According to Chinese officials, the aid is aimed at supporting civilians affected by the war and easing humanitarian pressure across the region.
A spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said Beijing is acting “in the spirit of humanity” to help those in need.
“China will continue to provide assistance needed in the spirit of humanity to support the Iranian people in overcoming difficulties,” the spokesperson said.
As part of the support, China has pledged about $200,000 in emergency aid to the Iranian Red Crescent to assist victims of the conflict.
Chinese officials also condemned attacks on civilians and non-military targets, warning that such actions violate international law.
“Attacking schools and harming civilians seriously violate international humanitarian law,” the spokesperson said.
Beyond humanitarian aid, China called for an immediate end to the fighting and urged all sides to return to dialogue.
“We will continue to strengthen communication with all relevant parties… and play a constructive role in easing tensions,” the spokesperson added.
The announcement comes as the war in the Middle East continues to worsen, with rising casualties and growing concern about its impact on civilians and global stability.
China has also been engaging in diplomatic efforts, calling for peace talks and warning that continued fighting could spread instability across the region.
The development highlights increasing international concern over the humanitarian effects of the conflict and the need for urgent action to protect civilians.
