The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sharply criticised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for its recent promise to take over the state in the 2027 general elections.

In a strong statement released on Monday, the Lagos APC Spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, mocked the opposition party's plans.

He described the ADC’s ambition as a "political fantasy" and warned that Lagos is not a testing ground for "political apprentices" or small parties looking for attention.

"Lagos is not up for grabs," Oladejo stated. "It is certainly not a charity project for emergency parties seeking relevance through laughable headlines."

The APC challenged the ADC to first prove it can organise its own party meetings before dreaming of governing a state with over 20 million people. Oladejo argued that the ADC lacks the structure, ideas, and candidates needed to lead a modern state like Lagos.

Highlighting the ruling party's record, the spokesman said Lagosians have seen years of strong leadership, from President Bola Tinubu’s time as governor to the current administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He insisted that the people of Lagos know the difference between real governance and "social media echo chambers."

Oladejo concluded by advising the ADC to focus on winning smaller elections, such as councillorship seats, before aiming for the governor's office.

He declared that Lagos remains firmly in the hands of the APC and is not open for "political experiments."
