The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has launched a new toll-free emergency hotline, 3367, to help residents quickly report traffic incidents, road emergencies and the conduct of traffic officers across the state.

The agency said the new short-code replaces its previous long-service code and is designed to improve emergency response, traffic management and public participation.

According to LASTMA, the 3367 hotline is free for subscribers on MTN, Glo and Etisalat (T2) networks, allowing millions of Lagos residents to report emergencies without paying for calls.

Road users can use the hotline to report vehicle breakdowns, road crashes, stranded tankers, disabled trucks, traffic blockages and other situations requiring urgent attention.

The agency also said members of the public can use the platform to report the behaviour and professionalism of LASTMA officials while on duty.

To make the service easier to use, callers can speak with operators in English, Yoruba or Pidgin English.

LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki described the initiative as “a landmark advancement” in the agency's efforts to protect lives, improve traffic flow and build “a more responsive, technology-driven and citizen-centred traffic management system.”

He said the launch of the hotline shows LASTMA's commitment to using technology to solve transportation challenges while working more closely with residents.

“The inauguration of the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline represents another monumental stride towards institutionalising a safer, more efficient and highly responsive transportation ecosystem across Lagos State,” Bakare-Oki said.

He added that the hotline gives residents “a direct, convenient and cost-free channel” to report incidents requiring immediate attention.

The general manager assured residents that all reports would be handled “with utmost professionalism, confidentiality and diligence” before being sent to the appropriate operational teams for quick action.

He urged Lagos residents to make good use of the hotline to improve road safety, strengthen accountability and support safer transportation across the state.
