A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party backed by Seyi Makinde has released its timetable for the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates and costs for candidate nomination.
The schedule, announced on Monday and signed by organising secretary Theophilus Dakas, sets out activities leading to the party’s primaries and final selection of candidates.
According to the timetable, the party will begin its process on 4th May 2026, with the issuance of a notice of elections to state chapters.
The sale of nomination forms will run from 5th to 13th May.
The PDP fixed the presidential form at ₦100 million and governorship form at ₦40 million, while Senate forms cost ₦10 million, House of Representatives ₦7 million, and state assembly ₦2 million.
The party also announced measures to support inclusion.
It said female aspirants will “only pay for expression of interest forms,” while youths and persons with disabilities will receive a 50 percent discount on nomination forms.
Screening of aspirants will take place between 15th and 18th May, with appeals scheduled for 21st May.
Ward congresses and primaries are expected later in May, followed by a special national convention on 30th May to ratify candidates.
Submission of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission will take place between late June and mid-July. Campaigns are expected to begin in August 2026 for presidential and National Assembly elections.
The timetable comes amid ongoing internal disagreements within the PDP, as different factions continue to push competing structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
